The wholesale price
index (WPI) based inflation of India has fallen to 5.2 % in the month of April
2014. This is the lowest in two months. This has been become achievable with
the help of slower increase in food and fuel prices as per the government data
showed today.
The inflation which
is based on Whole Price Index (WPI) was at 5.7 % during the month of March. According
to the data released by the ministry of commerce and industry, the WPI
Inflation in April during the preceding year was 4.77 per cent.
The Food inflation has also
been eased to 8.64 % in April which is sharply lower from 9.9 % recorded previously
in the April. The Fuel and power inflation has also decreased to 8.93 percent
from 11.22 per cent during the previous month.
