Nikon has announced the launch of Android based
point to shoot digital compact camera Nikon COOLPIX S810c.
The camera runs on Android’s Jellybean
OS. Popular apps can be installed from the Google Play Store that come pre
installed with the camera. Images clicked with the camera could be posted
easily with popular social media apps.
Downloadable app Connect to S810c could
be used to easily transfer photos between the camera and device like phone,
tables, etc. the camera comes pre installed with Image Space which is image
storage and sharing service from Nikon.
The company also introduces a new photo
commenting function letting users to add comments right away or keep up to 400
characters notes to the photos taken.
The camera is powered by a 16 MP backside illuminations CMOS sensor with a built in vibration reduction (VR) function to puts together both lens shift VR and electronic VR. The camera has NIKKOR 25mm-300mm lens with 12x optical zoom and Dynamic Fine Zoom which basically brings up the max soon capability of the lens to zoom to 24x or 600mm focal length. The camera is capable of taking macro shots up to as close as 2cm and shooting full HD 1920 x 1080/30p movies.
It also includes a 3.7-inch 1229k-dot TFT LCD touch
screen monitor and a rechargeable battery of 1850 mAh that can shoot 270 shots
approximately. It also comes with a micro SDHC/XC memory card slot, a headphone
jack and GPS.

Horie said that the camera combines best parts of a Nikon camera and limitless
possibilities of the Android Operating System, so that one can easily integrate
their digital lives with their creative passions. He also said that the user of
the camera users will be able to stay connected and share their everyday
moments easily through Full HD video and amazing stills.
