Japanese Motor Company Nissan has today
launched its entry level vehicle Datsun
GO. The vehicle is priced in the range of Rs.3.12 lakh to Rs.3.69 lakh (ex showroom
price in Delhi).
The Datsun brand marks its reinforcement
after 32 years with this launch. This is the 3rd brand from Nissan
and was phased out in the year 1980. The vehicle has been engineered and
developed in India. It was first showcased on last year.
Powered by a 1.2 litre three cylinder
petrol engine this vehicle give a mileage of about 20.63 km per litre. The engine
of this vehicle also comes with a 5 speed manual transmission.
Datsun Go come with feature like
electric power steering, leather feel cabin materials and ventilated disk
brakes.
For entertainment purpose it sports a
mobile docking station and equipped with satellite navigation and hands free
telephone usage and radio which could be accessed through a Smartphone.
At present Datsun has a production
capacity of 4,00,000 units annually in its plant near Chennai. The company said
that it may increase the production capacity to up to 4,80,000 depending upon
market conditions and response.
The motor company said that
for now they have no plans for export but may do so if they get any opportunity.
