Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni
files Rs 100 Crore defamation case against two television media Zee Media
Corporation and News Nation Network. The High Court of Madras today has restrained
these two media from broadcasting or publishing any news stories related with
skipper M S Dhoni with any betting or match fixing incident for two weeks.
HC has also restrained these media
companies from insinuating Dhoni’s honesty and integrity in an Rs.100 crore
defamation case filed by the cricketer.
The suit is filed by the cricketer
against the companies and also suspended a police official of Tamil Nadu. He
said that channel editor of Zee News and its business head along with the
police official were telecasting false news report since 11th
February 2014.
The reports insinuated the
involvement of the cricketer in betting and match fixing. He also alleged false
information broadcast by News Nation Network as he was summoned by the police
official of Tamil Nadu.
The skipper said the news
reports were about CSK team in the IPL led by him. He said that these false
reports stained his reputation and image globally.
