Two
apartment buildings collapsed in a major explosion in New York City on Wednessday
night. The explosion is caused
apparently by a gas leakage. The gas leakage has later on flattened two
Manhattan apartment buildings in a fireball.
The
incident resulted with the killing of at least six people and injuring 63
others.
The Mayor of New York, Mayor Bill de Blasio has called the incident of yesterday as a tragedy of the worst kind. His office says that at least nine residents from the two collapsed buildings were still untraceable after the incident of yesterday.

The
reason of gas explosion and the subsequent fire is being investigated by The
National Transportation Safety Board.
Commuter
rail service of Metro-North Railroad moving through Manhattan has been restored after clearing debris from the tracks.
The
US President Barack Obama sent his condolences to the victims’ families and his
support to first responders at the scene.
