launch of a new service FB Newswire. This service will play the role of a news
aggregator and a news source for journalist around the world.
The service will make sure that journalists receive verified and
accurate news stories that they can rely on.
A report from CNET says that Facebook has partnered with Storyful for
verifying news stories. Storyful is a company that collects content from social
networks and verifies their accuracy through its editorial team.
The content for this service including text, photo and video will
be collected from the status updates that are shared publicly by Facebook users
and companies.
Facebook has taken this step in their attempt to establish a relationship
with journalists and be aligned with other competing social sites such as
Twitter.
