According to
reports, Google may acquire video game streaming site Twitch and may acquire by
offering over one billion dollar.
It is also
heard that Google may incorporate the service with YouTube.
Twitch is a
video game streaming site where people upload videos of game play from PS4 and
Xbox for others to watch the game plays. Twitch claims to have over 45 million
monthly users and 10 million active uploaders.
The site
twitch.tv was launched by the co founders of justin.tv Justin Kan and Emmett
Shear as subsidiary of justin.tv in mid 2011 for focussing gaming related
content when they noticed that the gaming channels attracted large numbers.
By acquiring Twitch, Google could bring a
video gaming section in YouTube which can bring 45 million monthly users of
Twitch into YouTube.
