Scientists of
information technology are on their way to present gesture / swipe keyboards
that would enable the user to type messages by simply waving their hands in the
air.
The keyboard of the future is
based partly on the sensor technology built for Microsoft Kinetic Games. The keyboard
could enable users to manipulate data without sitting down and typing in letters
one at a time.
A prototype keyboard has already come up from Microsoft
Research sensing rich and expressive motion gestures performed both on and
directly above the device.
Discovery News have reported that It lets you pinch and swipe
just like a smart phone screen a few inches above the keyboard, using built-in
infrared sensors to detect movement.
